அழுக்காறு அவாவெகுளி இன்னாச்சொல் நான்கும்
இழுக்கா இயன்றது அறம். (குறள் – 35)
Explanation:
Collins Dictionary defines virtue as thinking and
doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong. This is what exactly Valluvar
means by virtue. We all learn what is right and what is wrong from our
education, upbringing, and the society in which we live. If our mind is pure
without blemishes, then it will direct us to do the right thing and avoid the
wrong thing. Therefore, virtue is keeping the mind free from blemishes like
envy, greed, anger, and the tendency to speak words that hurt others.
